World Press Photo Contest is one of the most important prizes for photojournalism:
it is a unique occasion to review and discover
the most beautiful and significant images
that have documented and illustrated facts and
events on international magazines and newspapers.
World Press Photo is not just an exhibition of beautiful images:
more, it is a historic document that let the viewer
go through crucial moments of our times.
The international fame of World Press Photo and the hundreds
of thousands visitors that attend the exhibition every year,
testify the power of image to transcend cultural and linguistic differences
and reach a consistent and immediate level of communication.
The exhibition presents the prizewinning photographs
for each of the ten categories and travels worldwide
to important museums and galleries; the only condition
to be respected is to show every photo of the show without any form of censorship.
