When a zipper opens, it is ZIP!
As for the book of Giancarlo Ascari, known also by his comics nickname Elfo
and Pia Valentinis, twice winner of the Andersen Award.

ZIP! is all about fashion from an ironical point of view.
Published by Franco Cosimo Panini, texts and authors were introduced
by Pietro Cheli, Amica Deputy Editor.

Based on “Just Kids” by Patti Smith, New York Serenade is a photographic book
published by Skira with the pictures of Ciro Frank Schiappa and the texts by Michele Primi
that document the actual places where famous rock music stars used to live.
A riveting book to find out the peripherical traces of New York in the words of Piero Negri,
La Stampa Managing Editor presented yesterday night at the Galleria Carla Sozzani.

A discussion between a “window” photography and a “mirror” photography

ARAKI AMORE Galleri Carla Sozzani-042

With the emblematic title of “Araki Amore” it opened last night at Galleria Carla Sozzani
the exhibition of the Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki with a selection of works
mostly unpublished and produced in the last two years curated by Filippo Maggia.

Classic themes of his photographic research:
nudes, portraits, floral arrangements, the orderly yet chaotic metropolitan city,
are all read today and processed with the recovery of negatives from the past decades.

There are also on show three new compositions of more than 100 polaroid
that have been put together by Araki as unique works,
and a video documentary taken last year in July in Tokyo that presents for the first time in Italy,
Araki working with the dancer Kaori in a naked portrait session.
