ANGELO MARINO GALLERIA CARLA SOZZANI-004

Angelo Marino, with his work “Another Story
used the 21st century tools of I-phone camera and apps
to construct an intriguing, enigmatic narrative,
a kind of pictorial “concrete poetry” of an everyday serendipity.
With patience and care, Marino set himself the project of making one image of his commuting journey
each working day for a year,
capturing an unscripted moment as that days’s contribution to a cinematic panorama
of one full year’s experience of intense looking.
It is the real “magic of everyday”, that comes out,
like in the foreword by Philippe Garner
to Marino’s amazing Leporello catalogue.

Thanks to the professionality of the curator Jerzy Brinkhof,
who has overviewed the installation of all the World Press Photo ’18 works
and to the attention of Lars Boering, Managing Director,
who attended the opening in Milan for the first time.

“Powerful images with a strong empathy for human being”,
as said by Luca Locatelli,
awarded Italian photographer in the Environment category
and
“strong images that make people reflect and, sometimes, act.”
As Alessandra Costa quoted in her tv report – Rai TG3.
