Thanks to the great introduction of Beppe Finessi, Director of Inventario magazine,
to the ironic gaze of the author, Gabriele Neri and to the exceptional presence of

It took more than ten years the quest of Shelly Verthime
to bring the untouched pictures by Guy Bourdin to a book and to an exhibition,
shown for the first time at the Fondazione Sozzani.

Thanks to the intuitions, the coincidences,
and the love for Bourdin’s work of Shelly Verthime, the Curator of the Estate Guy Bourdin,
and Alistair O’Neill, curator and lecturer at the Saint Martins’ College,
who, with his fluent and accomplished talking led the audience throughout the years
and the career of Guy Bourdin.

with 12 years of works collected into an organic flow
which document but also re-interpret and re-contextualise
the objects and spaces which accumulate to form his practice.

With magnificent photography and texts by leading architectural writers,
the book describes the ideas behind the Tate Modern’s conception and construction,

Conversations between Tate Modern director Chris Dercon

as well as landscape architect Gu¨nther Vogt,
interior designer Jasper Morrison, and graphic designer Ian Cartlidge,
present the philosophy and interchange of ideas that drove this project now
