Twenty-five years ago, Maison Martin Margiela launched it’s iconic printed t-shirt:
“THERE IS MORE ACTION TO BE DONE TO FIGHT AIDS
THAN WEAR THIS T-SHIRT BUT IT’S A GOOD START”.
With profits going to French organisation AIDES, the t-shirt has been reissued and reimagined every year since.

To honour the anniversary of this partnership,
Margiela’s MM6 SS/19 collection put the familiar slogan centre stage
– printed as it was on the exterior (and interior) of garments including
velvet dévoré Japanese bags, flare-heeled ankle boots,
brass cuffs and vinyl shopping bags, as well as the classic t-shirt.

Now available at 10 Corso Como.

Good Morning Design published by Rizzoli Illustrati
the book launched at Fondazione Sozzani yesterday.

“Lost and out of scale, the objects here move freely within a series of silent places,
revealing a new complicity with space, with light, with color, and matter.
The result is a peaceful landscape in which to build new ideas of living.”

Conversation between
Giulio Cappellini, Art Director of Ceramica Flaminia
Augusto Ciarrocchi, President of Ceramica Flaminia
Mario Trimarchi, designer, book curator
and the photographer Santi Caleca.

Harlem-1958-tradeWEB1

Black and white: two colors forbidden to be in close proximity, yet captured so beautifully
within
a single black and white frame. The importance of this photo transcends time
and location, leaving it to become not only a symbolic piece of art, but a piece of history.
