OPENING-NOV-30
datas

Three days in New York with three different weather systems! from Indian Summer and great warmth, to rain, to a snowstorm!. The best place to experience this early snowfall was watching through the windows of the café at the Guggenheim Museum. The museum seemed as white and pure as the show. Nature as art. We had come to see one of the most beautiful exhibitions in New York – Zero – an exhibition that has over 40 artists from 10 countries centered around the German modernists of the midcentury and their influences. Now on show until January 7th.

Home – to Milano in the fog; Milano in the rain, beautiful rain. And so happy to be in our bookshop looking at children books. It is like breathing fresh air having past memories fly by, and a future arrive to light up life. Here, the cover of a Bruno Munari book, and my heartfelt thanks go with the most beautiful memories to the Emme edizioni, the  books edited by Rosellina Archinto, from 1965 for twenty years, a gift to children and adults. The most beautiful children’s books ever with the most beautiful alphabet.

The coat designed by Tigran and the sweater by  Sacai speak a warm, Eastern language. Straight  from the Afghan Valley of colors, is coming the inspiration of the magnificent wools that Paul Smith wanted in the coats and  suit-case. With the same, great attention to those colors Alex Mullins weaved the threads in his hand-made scarfs.

A very touching presentation of his book “Prison” by Koto Bolofo. The book includes the list of the thousands of prisoners at Robben Island.

For me, as close as I can get to bliss – an entire week dedicated to photography. Paris Photo this week. “All-American” is the beautiful and always surprising collection Bruce Weber has assembled for many years now. Each year a new book of discoveries, explorations, sometimes nostalgia, exquisite. His aesthetic always beautiful, and always his heart, first. This year with Volume XIV his choices, “Affairs of the heart” have been a great surprise. Kris is in there! In the same issue with Marcello Mastroianni.
