On this rainy Sunday afternoon in Milano all is gray and I start to think about color. With all these circles on my desk I start to consider the meaning of color, and the meaning of circles. It is said that deep meditation increases your brain function but sometimes the meanings of things are too far and profound to reach in words. In Chinese symbols, the circle represents the shape of heaven and a square represents the shape of earth. If this is true, then the universal meaning of the circle also represents the infinite creative energy. Here, circles in squares, finding heaven on earth this rainy Sunday.read more sunday

I have just returned from Tel Aviv, and a visit to the Design Museum Holon. This museum is only two years old, but this vibrant new organization is working hard to present an international face and has just wrapped a successful solo exhibition of Yohji Yamamoto.  Yohji did not make it to his party, a pity, but I was able to meet with both upcoming and established Israeli designers and found that beauty in art and fashion is always joined one with the other.read more sunday

Just looking at the blue Paris sky, it is so beautiful – and I hear people say, “it is like a painting”.  What a strange expression: because really nothing can ever beat nature.

Here the doors of BHV, one of my favorite destinations where I can buy everything from a nail ( and hammer) to a nail polish.

The Bazar de l’Hotel de Ville is an icon of the industrial revolution.

Large varieties of quality goods could be transported on rail to the cities and sold in one elegant venue, not local small markets – the birth of the department store and BHV is still faithful to its origins.

You enter a dream of shopping – much like watching the ever-changing kaleidoscope that is the Paris sky above the door.read more sunday
